Unlocking Growth Through Shareable Maps

COMPANY

Cyvl

TIMELINE

5 weeks

IMPACT

+241% increase in weekly active users

Problem

BUSINESS POV
Sales lacked a lightweight, compelling way to showcase value early and make it easy for potential clients to share Cyvl within their organization.

USER POV
Municipal teams struggled to communicate infrastructure insights across stakeholders (between departments, agencies, private entities, and the public), leading to poor coordination and inefficiencies.

Solution

Created shareable maps, enabling users to easily share key insights and drive engagement across stakeholders through clear, visual communication.

Process

Conducted 10 user interviews and a field visit to identify what drives a “wow moment.” Visual maps and street imagery consistently created immediate impact.

Focused the solution on making this moment easily shareable.

Partnered with engineering to implement the frontend using Figma MCP, then refined the UX directly via Cursor.

Introduced structured dogfooding into the release cycle, testing end-to-end flows with cross-functional team members to ensure quality before launch.

Learnings

Incorporating dogfooding into the release cycle increased confidence in product quality. We subsequently standardized this practice across all customer-facing launches.
